I will update this production plan as I work through the assignment.

Audio Video Music Multimedia Authoring Assignment Brief Cavan Institute
AVM Assignment Brief

28th November 2016

Today in our Multimedia Authoring class, from 11am to 1pm we started class by updating our digital profile in Komodo Edit 8. We use both HTML 5 to edit specific pages and CSS coding to style the fonts, colours etc. I added 3 audio tracks that I like. First I cnverted the youtube file into an mp3 format using a free Youtube to mp3 website.
I then used an Online File Converter to convert different file formats including, ogg, mp3, and wav.
This was done so the music would be compatible on all browers like internet explorer, chrome, firefox etc.

For our next class on Thursday I will be recording a video resume, that I will be uploading to my video Html section on my digital profile. Between 20-30 seconds will be sufficient to show myself and my best abilities. I'm looking forward to trying this out and seeing the end result on my profile.

1st December 2016

For my production plan on Blogger for my AVM assignment I will be sticking to our given brief to ensure all the necessary steps are followed. To ensure our page looks professional and is finished to a high standard.

Following steps need to be followed:

  1. file names are all lowercase, short, descriptive with no spaces - this applies to ALL file names for html, css, audio, video and images.
  2. title tag on all html pages - descriptive and different
  3. h1 tags on all pages and hopefully h2 and possibly h3 (h1 must be the largest, h2 the second largest and h3 the third largest)
  4. good content - no spelling or grammar errors
  5. add 'click to call' on your phone numbers if relevant <a href="tel: +353 80 1234567">Tel: +353 80 1234567</a>
  6. change the colour scheme from your previous submission
  7. ensure your nav bar is edited correctly
  8. record your video resume at home on your phone or a borrowed phone
  9. ensure all video and audio files are converted to the correct format
6th December 2016
Last night on the 5th December 5th 2016 I recorded my video profile for my AVM assignment. I used my nikon dslr camera video mode to record it in my bedroom. I placed it on a tripod for stability. After about 10 attempts I was happy with the end video. it might be a bit on the short, as it's only 40 seconds long. I kept forgetting what I had rehearsed to say. I think it's just about been confident in front of the camera. Then in tomorrows class for multimedia authoring I'm planning to add my video to my video.html file and format it, so it's compatible on all browsers. I also have a few other things to do including changing font sizes and writing up more of my report. It's going to be a busy day.

7th December 2016
In today's class I have started to convert my video file I recorded into the different file formats. File formats including .mp4, .ogv and .webm. The download times for these was long but I got them converted and downloaded to the appropriate  folders. Unsuring they are saved to the correct folders makes it easier to find them when adding them to my HTML code in Komodo.

Thursday 8th December 2016
In todays multimedia authoring class I continued to write up my report for the assignment. I concentrated on writing about the importance of converting the audio and video files, for good browser compatibility. I also looked over my code and viewed my profile on Chrome browser. I took note of changes I have to make over the weekend, including changing my font to a sans-serif, adding some more headings in my audio and video files and also I have to optimise my images used. Hopefully I can get this all done on the weekend ahead.

Abandoned Places Photography

I love to explore many old and abandoned houses, and buildings, here in Ireland. To go into the dark of these abandoned places, hoping to uncover their secrets. Among the cobwebs and peeling paint that, I search for objects forgotten by time.  My aim is to show these places among the dust, and show it's beauty, a beauty to some, especially me.  By visiting these places, and photographing them, i hope to preserve the last breath of mystery and nostalgia that surrounds them. Many would think twice before stepping foot into these sometimes eerie, crumbling buildings, to me they have a subtle allure. I don't know why i have such a love with these places. I’ve been trying to visit as many abandoned places as possible. There is something enticing about abandoned places. You can feel the past in such places, they have a peculiar smell, a parti...

Summer Months

Hey guys, I was reading some of my past blog posts, and I just realized it's been over 3 months since I last posted one. Summer has come and gone so quickly, too quick in fact. To be honest we did get 2/3 weeks of amazing sunshine, so I'm not complaining. So much happened over the past couple of months. As always I've been super busy with my trusty Nikon camera. I took so many new photos, and recorded some new video footage also. In May I finished my Multimedia & Web Development course at  Cavan Institute . It was an amazing 2 years, and to my surprise I received a full 9 distinctions on all my modules, which I was extremely happy with. Onto the next chapter, which in the new year, I'm hoping to start a part time film & Television course in Dublin city...... excited.  I purchased a new Sigma 70-210 macro lens way back at the start of the year also, but I only properly had the chance to test it out during the summer. I'm not gonna lie, macro is somet...

Cuilcagh Mountain Park

Back in April of this year I visited the stunning  Cuilcagh Mountain Park, which is situated in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.   The weather changes very quickly, but thankfully the day we visited it was quite overcast, but the rain stayed off for our visit. But make sure to bring rain gear just in case.  The trail starts off with a stony path followed by a board walk and then steps in the final stretch the views along the way are amazing. It is extraordinary to walk up a staircase which is built scaling the side of a mountain.  One would need to be reasonably fit & not have any disability as the terrain is challenging enough & coming down needs care.  The first part of the walk was along 3.5 km of gravel path then to the boardwalk which took us about 45 minutes in all to reach the top.  It is a wonderful place to go for a w...
