May/June2018

Now that I've finished my Multimedia & Web Development Course at  Cavan Institute , I've the summer to work on some video and photography projects I have in mind. It's been a very busy few months, with final assignments, and exams at the end of May. I always gave myself enough time to complete college work. I was very happy to have been successful in the Aca exam, for Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Premiere Pro. An Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) credential certifies that individuals have the skills to plan, design, build and maintain effective communications using different forms of digital media.  At times I might of felt slightly stressed, but everything worked out in the end. So far since I've had free time I've been super busy. On the 19th of May this year I was delighted to receive my Licentiate distinction, with the  Irish Photographic Federation . Applicants put forward a panel of ten prints, which are assessed by a panel of experienced ...

My Erasmus + 2018

It's been well over two months since I've returned from 2 weeks, in the stunning Eastern Finnish Town of Mikkeli. I had the opportunity to apply for the  Erasmus +  Programme, as part of my  Multimedia & Web Development   year 2 course at  Cavan Institute .  The Erasmus + Programme is a European funding programme established in 1987, and offers myself and many other university students, the fantastic possibility of studying or doing an internship abroad in another country for a period of at least 2 months and a maximum 12 months. Myself, and two other fellow students from my course Pawel & Shaine, and also two girls called Lauren & Nicole from the Childcare course all traveled to Mikkel, on the 27th of January. We flew into Amsterdam, to get a connecting flight to Helsinki. Our tutor Donna Mc Carron, and Stacy Gardenir also accompanied us throughout. From Helsinki we got 3 trains, and one final taxi to reach our hot...

Cuilcagh Mountain Park

Back in April of this year I visited the stunning  Cuilcagh Mountain Park, which is situated in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.   The weather changes very quickly, but thankfully the day we visited it was quite overcast, but the rain stayed off for our visit. But make sure to bring rain gear just in case.  The trail starts off with a stony path followed by a board walk and then steps in the final stretch the views along the way are amazing. It is extraordinary to walk up a staircase which is built scaling the side of a mountain.  One would need to be reasonably fit & not have any disability as the terrain is challenging enough & coming down needs care.  The first part of the walk was along 3.5 km of gravel path then to the boardwalk which took us about 45 minutes in all to reach the top.  It is a wonderful place to go for a w...

August Photography

Hi everyone, it's been awhile since my last blog post. I've been off this summer, before I return to college on Monday. I'm continuing my Multimedia & Web Development year 2 course, in Cavan Institute , here in Ireland. I've been so busy taking many photos throughout the summer months, with so much to show you all. The summer has really flew by, to quick really, but I'm glad to get back to my studies soon, and looking forward to new ideas and challenges.  I'm going to show you what I got up to this month. And then in another blog post coming soon, I will talk more about what I have been doing during the summer. At the start of August, myself and my fellow photographer friend Roisin Mc Phillips met up in Virginia, in County Cavan, here in Ireland. It's 15 minutes from my hometown in Bailieborough. It's full of beautiful forests, lakes, and so much more. The below photo, I took in Deerpark Forest in Virginia. I love this spot i...
