New possibilities

Hey ladies and gentlemen, so in February this year, I bit the bullet as the saying goes, and bought myself a new Nikon camera. After having the D5300 for over 5 years, I wanted to upgrade for ages, but kept putting it off. I opted for the D750, after doing some research on full frame camera options. I have to say I really like it so far. Settings wise its not a massive difference, but I can already see the quality of the photos are higher quality. I only printed some small prints so far.

As soon as I got the camera delivered I went out the same night, to test it out. Under the night sky, I tried some long exposures, and other ideas I wanted to do, in this isolation time we are facing.

I have taken so many photos since I got the camera. I like to go out at least 2/3, times a week if possible. I think if I left it any longer I'd get lazy. And sometimes I get bored easily. So I like to keep myself busy and active with my photography. Even if its the simplest shot, or something more complex. You're putting the time and effort into taking that shot, to push that shutter. It means something to you. It's a moment captured forever, frozen in time..

There has been far to many photos to show you all. But it varies from flowers above, to some urbex, nature and landscapes. Only thing I haven't done much of is portraits. But I've loads of ideas to try out soon hopefully. Try some new ideas, even when your stuck at home. The possibilities are endless. I'll add some more photos to this post, and make some more blogs. It's impossible to fit them all in.

Hope you are all keeping safe and optimistic, in the current Covid-19 era. It's strange times for everyone. Once we are respect the measures put in place, we can get through it together. Take care, and thanks for taking the time to read through my blog post :)

Abandoned Places Photography

I love to explore many old and abandoned houses, and buildings, here in Ireland. To go into the dark of these abandoned places, hoping to uncover their secrets. Among the cobwebs and peeling paint that, I search for objects forgotten by time.  My aim is to show these places among the dust, and show it's beauty, a beauty to some, especially me.  By visiting these places, and photographing them, i hope to preserve the last breath of mystery and nostalgia that surrounds them. Many would think twice before stepping foot into these sometimes eerie, crumbling buildings, to me they have a subtle allure. I don't know why i have such a love with these places. I’ve been trying to visit as many abandoned places as possible. There is something enticing about abandoned places. You can feel the past in such places, they have a peculiar smell, a parti...

Summer Months

Hey guys, I was reading some of my past blog posts, and I just realized it's been over 3 months since I last posted one. Summer has come and gone so quickly, too quick in fact. To be honest we did get 2/3 weeks of amazing sunshine, so I'm not complaining. So much happened over the past couple of months. As always I've been super busy with my trusty Nikon camera. I took so many new photos, and recorded some new video footage also. In May I finished my Multimedia & Web Development course at  Cavan Institute . It was an amazing 2 years, and to my surprise I received a full 9 distinctions on all my modules, which I was extremely happy with. Onto the next chapter, which in the new year, I'm hoping to start a part time film & Television course in Dublin city...... excited.  I purchased a new Sigma 70-210 macro lens way back at the start of the year also, but I only properly had the chance to test it out during the summer. I'm not gonna lie, macro is somet...

Cuilcagh Mountain Park

Back in April of this year I visited the stunning  Cuilcagh Mountain Park, which is situated in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.   The weather changes very quickly, but thankfully the day we visited it was quite overcast, but the rain stayed off for our visit. But make sure to bring rain gear just in case.  The trail starts off with a stony path followed by a board walk and then steps in the final stretch the views along the way are amazing. It is extraordinary to walk up a staircase which is built scaling the side of a mountain.  One would need to be reasonably fit & not have any disability as the terrain is challenging enough & coming down needs care.  The first part of the walk was along 3.5 km of gravel path then to the boardwalk which took us about 45 minutes in all to reach the top.  It is a wonderful place to go for a w...
